Experienced Irrigation Foreman - Full Job Description

Salary of $40,000-$50,000 per year. Plus a $2500 hiring bonus. 
Greenstar Irrigation Co. is a licensed irrigation company. We specialize in irrigation repairs and alterations. 
Servicing Residential and Commercial Properties for over 35 years in Miami-Dade County. Greenstar Irrigation is currently seeking an experienced Irrigation Foreman. The irrigation foreman is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems as well as for managing employees, projects, and resources. 

Required Qualifications (Only candidates who have the following requirements will be considered for the role):

  • Minimum 3 years experience as an irrigation technician.
  • Minimum 4 years experience as an irrigation foreman.
  • Minimum 4 years of industry-related experience.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and fix irrigation systems.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues and use a wire tracker.
  • Perform wet checks and make sure the irrigation systems and different zones are up and running.
  • Perform pressure tests.
  • Install, repair, and replace valves, irrigation pumps, timers, solenoids, pressure switches, main lines, laterals, and sleeves.
  • Install and maintain controllers, timers, and rain sensors.
  • Install zone valves, electrical valves, and manifolds.
  • Skilled and knowledgeable in the inner workings of all PVC pipe fittings and the installation of sprinkler heads, pop up and rotors.
  • Delegating tasks, overseeing all irrigation projects, and supervising the crew members to ensure that projects are completed in the most efficient way.
  • Working knowledge of good pumps and ability to install points of connections.
  • Install irrigation lines and/or make repairs to them.
  • Physical ability to walk/stand for long periods of time - this position also requires using a shovel/rake and all other irrigation tools.
  • Must have a working knowledge of South Florida landscaping and the water needs of plant material, as well as recognizing stressed landscapes as a result of water deficiencies.
  • Ability to troubleshoot all aspects of an irrigation system, including pumps, valves, wiring, controllers, time clocks, and pump stations.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing in order to prepare reports and maintain records.
  • Ability to plan and organize the workload and to adjust assignments when needed.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees.
  • Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: crouching, manual dexterity, hearing, kneeling, mental acuity, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity, and walking.
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to take and keep track of inventory.
  • Strong communication skills and being able to be a part of a team are essential.
  • Ability to manage employees, projects, resources, and expectations. coordinate job activities and materials.
  • Responsible for billing of irrigation repairs and installation, etc.
  • Train, manage and develop other employees, as needed.
  • Must possess superb communication skills and must speak and present themselves professionally.
  • Must have a passion for customer service, excellence and have high-quality standards.
  • Must speak English (Spanish is a plus). 

Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Relevant experience and references.
  • Able to lift 50 LBS on a regular basis.
  • Be able to pass criminal background checks and pre-employment drug screen.
